Kilian Jornet is the overall winner of the 2011 Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run.

He ran the 100 mile course, the Boston Marathon of 100-mile ultra marathons, in a time of 15:34.

Jornet is from Puigcerda, Spain.  He is the youngest male to ever win the race according to a tweet from ultra marathon god Scott Jurek.

Reports are surfacing that 2nd place female finisher Kami Semick was delayed 7 minutes by a mad mama bear. She waited for runners behind her to catch her. They then passed the pissed bear as a group.

Kenya’s Terfa Negari won the 2011 Rock n’ Roll San Diego Marathon on Sunday, June 5, 2011, with a finishing time of 2:11:16.

Ethiopian Tesfaye Sendeku came in second place with a time of 2:12:21.

Negari’s fellow countryman Gilbert Chepkwony took home third with a strong showing at 2:12:49.

American Meb Keflezighi won the Rock n’ Roll San Diego Half Marathon race, run at the same time as the full marathon, with a time of 1:02:40.

Gina Slaby, fromt he United States Navy, was the female Half Marathon winner with a time of 1:16:33.

COMPLETE 2011 ROCK N’ Roll SAN DIEGO MARATHON RESULTS

Here are the results from the 33rd Annual Strolling Jim 40 Miler Ultra Marathon that took place on May 8, 2011 in Wartrace, TN.  Arkansas native Leah Thorvilson was the overall winner and set the female course record by nearly thirty minutes as well.

Owen Bradley was the first male across the finish line. He finished almost six minutes behind Leah.

It was a perfect day for Kenaya Geoffrey Mutai at the running of the 115th Boston Marathon on Monday.  The weather was cool, there was a tailwind, and Mutai used both to his advantage in running the fastest Boston Marathon time ever in 2:03:02.

Fellow countryman Moses Mosop, in his marathon debut, was almost quite as successful, finishing just 4 seconds back in 2:03:06.  Ethiopian Gebre Gebremariam finished in third at 2:04:53.

American Ryan Hall ran the fastest marathon time ever by an American with a superb finishing time of 2:04:58.  A time that would have won last year’s Boston Marathon.

Kenya’s Caroline Kilel held on to beat an amazing performance by American Desiree Davila by just two seconds to win the 115th Boston Marathon with a time of 2:22:36.

Davila finished 2 seconds back at 2:22:38 and third went to Kenya’s Sharon Cherop 2:22:42.

American Kara Goucher, who gave birth just this past year finished in 5th plaec at 2:24:52.

Congrats to all of these ladies and all finishers today in Boston.

Huntsville native George Heeschen won the Oak Barrel Half-Marathon in Lynchburg, Tennessee on Saturday with a time of 1:17:22.

Second male went to John Thorpe (1:20:00) and third to Eric Charette (1:20:06).

Anne Myers, of McMinnville, was the female champ, finishing the 13.1 mile race in 1:34:36.

Shada Walls grabbed second (1:37:00) and Emily Rutherford (1:39:29) finished out the female stand.
