The 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will take place on October 7, 2012 in the Windy City.
Registration for the marathon starts tomorrow (Feb 1, 2012) at noon.
The first 45,000 to register for the race will get in. Unlike Boston, Chicago is a first come-first serve for registration. It took less than 3-weeks last year for the race to sell out.
The price will be $150 for U.S. Citizens and $175 for non-U.S. Citizens.
Chicago is known for being one of the fastest marathon courses in the United States.

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Fleatweeted the following late tonight about distance running:
“Distance running is the best way to learn how to stay present in the moment I have ever found”
Flea ran his first marathon at the 2011 Los Angeles Marathon. I was lucky enough to finish around the same time as he did and talk to him briefly in the downpour that had soaked us all 26.2 miles.
I’m glad to hear he has stuck with it. He ran the L.A. Marathon to raise money for his charity, the Silver Lake Conservatory (website).
I’ve run in Newton Running Shoes most of the last two years. Newtons help you improve your form to become more of a forefoot or midfoot striker….therefore cutting down on injuries.
Not many color options or changes have been made to the brand until now.
Newton is releasing several new colors of it’s Distance, Gravity, Momentus, MV2, and Performance trainers throughout 2012.
