Run It Fast

This is the medal for the 2012 Run Crazy Horse Marathon held on September 30, 2012 in Hill City, South Dakota.  It is made of clay and boasts the sculpture of what the Crazy Horse Memorial will eventually look like when completed many decades from now.  It has a very charming, homemade look and the leather strap for a ribbon gives it a rugged, western feel.

There were 753 runners that participated in either the full or the half marathon.  Runners were more likely to run the half marathon, which sported roughly a 900 foot net descent, while the full marathon added a gradual climb from miles 13 – 20.

This is the Sub 24 buckle for the Lean Horse 100 that was held on August 25-26, 2012 in Spearfish, South Dakota.

This is a beautiful buckle. It has amazing detail and I love the image of the horse!

This Sub 24 buckle was earned by RIF #1 Joshua Holmes who PR’d by over an hour and shaved almost 4 hours off his time from last year! He totally rocked it. Congratulations Joshua!

This is the medal for the Leading Ladies Marathon that was held on August 19, 2012 in Spearfish, South Dakota.

The theme for this year’s women only marathon was The Lead Mare and the medal was based on a painting of the same name by Sarah Rogers. It’s a colorful and unique medal for a fun, fun, fun race! Seriously… it’s my new favorite marathon and I highly recommend it for the views and the support and bling! You can read my recap of it here.

Here is the Lean Horse 100 Mile Ultra Marathon belt buckle from the 2011 race that took place on August 27/28, 2011 in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Thomas Whalen, of St. Louis, Missouri, was the winner of the race in 15:34:43.

Deborah Hamberlin, of Tempe, Arizona, was the female winner with a time of 20:30:01.
