This is the unique finisher’s medal for the Kings Mountain Marathon and Half Marathon that was held on April 27, 2013 at King’s Mountain in Clover, South Carolina.

Each medal was handmade by the RD’s family and per Christy “the cedar smell is fantastic”. Very cool!

This is the medal for the Last Chance 50K that was held on December 15, 2012 in Cordesville, South Carolina.

Great medal! Love the Mayan symbols on it. Definitely appropriate given the name of the race. Here’s a photo of the back which is just as cool.

This is the medal for the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon that was held on October 21, 2012 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The smaller medal in the photo is for the 5K that was also held. Love these surfboard medals. Great colors and they are also bottle openers so they are useful too!

Here is the finisher’s medal from the Greer Earth Day Half Marathon that took place on April 21, 2012 in Greer, South Carolina.

It’s crisp, simple and well done. Kudos to the RD for not over thinking this medal. Now if you can plant that medal and it grows into a tree would really be something.
