Here is the extremely impressive finisher’s medal from the 2011 Southern Tennessee Plunge Marathon (website) that took place in Winchester, Tennessee on October 1, 2011.

This piece of hardware is massive, thick, and so gangsta that I’ve had four West Coast rappers contact me about purchasing it.  One went as far as to offer his ’68 Caddy and catalog of 13 unpublished 2Pac recordings.

Here is the finisher’s medal from the 2011 Fox Cities Marathon that took place on September 18, 2011.

Michael Heidke won the race with a time of 2:39:25.

The Marathon Maniacs held it’s annual reunion at Fox Cities this year.

Here is the finisher’s medal from the Lost Dutchman Marathon that was run February 20, 2011 in Apache Junction, Arizona.

The medal, pictured above, is the 10th anniversary medal.

Here is the finisher’s medal from the 2011 Heart of America Marathon that took place on September 5, 2011 in Columbia, Missouri.

I’ve seen better medals at local 5K’s, but this one at least beats a pilsner glass…I think!

Here is the Lean Horse 100 Mile Ultra Marathon belt buckle from the 2011 race that took place on August 27/28, 2011 in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Thomas Whalen, of St. Louis, Missouri, was the winner of the race in 15:34:43.

Deborah Hamberlin, of Tempe, Arizona, was the female winner with a time of 20:30:01.

This creative and unique finisher’s medal is from the 2011 Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, Ohio that took place on May 1, 2011.

It was the first two-sided medal that I have received for finishing a race.  The front had a ‘flying pig’ with the phrase “I HIGHTAILED IT,” and the back of the medal had the backside of a ‘flying pig’ with the phrase “I MADE A RUN FOR IT” with the skyline of Cincy in the background.

The decorative ribbon (see photo below) completed this first class medal. The ribbon was thick, with flying piggies, and the name of the race on it.

Here is the impressive and massive finisher’s bling from the 2011 Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon that took place in Louisville, Kentucky on April 30, 2011.

The overall winner was Peter Kemboi (2:24:59) and the female winner was Veronika Lopatina (2:41:24).

Here is a look at the 115th Boston Marathon finisher’s medal.  A classy and timeless piece of artwork for sure.

The 2011 race was the fastest Boston Marathon ever. Kenya’s Geoffrey Mutai won with the fastest time for a marathon ever in 2:03:02.
