Day 10: Run It Fast’s Race Across the USA – Jester’s White Gloves

Run It Fast’s Race Across the USA is ten days in the bag now. Our top team, Rev Run, won the day once again, but the team of the day is Kicking Glass with 141.37 miles. We have a couple of teams on the bottom side of our standings battling injuries. They are going to have to bond together, enjoy the journey, and encourage each other over the remaining states.

REV RUN- Day 10: 178.75 Miles (1st) – 1st overall

The Jester, Ed Ettinghausen, had a big 40+ mile day that helped Rev Run keep up with it’s high octane reputation. Lisa Devona was wonderful once again going for 31.93 miles. Karl Studtmann added a 20 piece as well.

The team is less than 1,000 miles from the finish and currently near Amarillo, Texas. They should be there by morning.

THE METCALVARY – Day 10: 138.82 Miles (3rd) – 2nd overall

The Mets were third on the day still putting miles on the teams closest to them. Erik Pascual was money with 21.36 miles. He was joined by Randy and Andy who combined for nearly 42 miles. Big, bad Randy Marks hit double figures early in the day with 10.50 miles.

The team is in Ozark, Arkansas.

GRAPES OF RATH – Day 10: 131.20 Miles (4th) – 3rd overall

GOR was led by Lisamarie Griffin who never really took a chill day after her big 67.08 mile day just 96 hours ago. She has combined for over 50 miles the last two days. Rebecca Sunday stepped up with 12.56 miles. Elva Matamoros continued her great race with 19.60 miles on the day.

The team is in Clarksville, Arkansas.

TUCK N’ STROLL – Day 10: 112.76 Miles (7th) – 4th overall

Ximena Kriete has been the MVP for The Tucks so far leading the team in miles eight of the first ten days. She did so once again on Wednesday with 22.22 miles. Donna Bullington added 15.00 miles. Rene Fosdal-Griffin had nearly twenty miles after his epic 66.10 mile performance just four days ago.

The team is in London, Arkansas.

ALFA’S OMEGAS – Day 10: 118.94 Miles (6th) – 5th overall

The Alfa’s rise in the standings is no fluke. Everyone showed up for work again today for a solid 6th place finish. It was enough to move the team up a spot in the overall standings. They were led once again by team captain Alfa Severino. Her top helpers on the day were Ryan Malecha (15.30) and Kelly Paul (13.21).

The team is in Pottsville, Arkansas.

  2. Ryan Malecha – 15.30 miles
  3. Kelly Paul – 13.21 miles

MOJO RISING- Day 10: 109.68 Miles (9th) – 6th overall

The team is getting contributions from everyone, but the big-mileage power punch just hasn’t been there the last few days. Lindsay Phenix was solid increasing her mileage once again with 23.52 miles. Mojo is in 6th overall but just 53 miles behind third place. Still a lot of days left in the race to make up that distance.

The team is in Happy Bend, Arkansas.

CROWE BARS – Day 10: 110.95 Miles (8th) – 7th overall

The Bars are in that similar funk Mojo seems to be in. They are getting bigger contributions, but not getting them from everyone the last few days. Steve Troxel led CB again with 24.22 miles. Marj ‘The Queen of Pinson Mounds’ Mitchell had 17.11 miles. Amy Hazlewood once again put down big miles going double-dime for the day.

TRIP 2 MY LOU – Day 10: 122.68 Miles (5th) – 8th overall

The Lou’s Laura Eriks had a big day with 28.09 miles to help out team captain Marylou Corino who was splendid once again with 27.20 miles. She now has 285.28 miles for the race. Mare also got help from the reliable Jeremy Kluttz with 18.02 miles.

The team is in Blackwell, Arkansas.

KICKING GLASS – Day 10: 141.37 Miles (2nd) – 9th overall

What a wonderful day for The Glass. They were 2nd place on the day beating everyone but Rev Run. It came from strong performances by Lisa Van Wolde (25.12 miles), Tiffani Glass (20.24), and Joan Lamayo-Buse (14.52). The Chiu brothers, Brendan and Justin, combined for 22.67 miles which really helped KG knock on Reverend’s door.

The team is in Biscoe, Arkansas.

KG’s Top Performers of the Day

  1. Lisa Van Wolde – 25.12 miles
  2. Tiffani Glass – 20.24 miles
  3. Joan Lamayo-Buse – 14.52 miles

PEERS ONE- Day 10: 57.88 Miles (12th) – 10th overall

Team morale is down for  P-1 with the race ending injury to it’s big miler Thomas Fowler. Captain Rich Peers continues to lead by example, but he might need to dig deep for a Knute Rockne speech to amp up the rest of the team to help make up Fowler’s missing miles. Steve Durbin got in 8.18 on the day, and Diane Taylor landed on 6.49 miles.

The team is in Germantown, Tennessee.

ELI’S P.R. ICE – Day 10: 92.54 Miles (10th) – 11th overall

A good day for the Ice Squad finishing 10th on the day. They were led by Francesca Muccini’s 20.12 miles. Melissa Price was perfect with her 15-spot again and John Leighton added 10.73 miles.

The team is in Mason, Tennessee.

THE BEETROOTS – Day 10: 69.76 Miles (11th) – 12th overall

The Beetroots get a race report today. The good news is Brenda Cross (22.01), Lance McDermott (20.13), and Leslie Studtmann (13.10) contributed wonderfully for The Roots today. The bad news is those three made up 55.24 of the team’s 69.76 miles. As in the other eight members of the team contributed 14.52 miles total. Is this the same team that had 145.86 miles this past Sunday?

The team is in Brownsville, Tennessee being chased by a swarm of killer hornet bees.
