Here is the finisher’s medal from the Rumspringa Half Marathon that took place on April 21, 2012 in Adamstown, Pennsylvania.

To quote any teenager that hypothetically would have received this medal, ‘SMH! WTF!’

I didn’t know either. So I asked Melly Mel, who submitted the medal photo, what exactly the device in the photo happened to be.

Her response, “It’s a cuckoo whistle of course!”

Well duh, silly me!

Said, hypothetical teenager immediately turned this ‘medal’ into a homemade smoking device!

Kenya’s Wilson Kipsang won the 2012 London Marathon this morning with a time of 2:04:44.

Second place went to Martin Lel (2:06:51-Kenya) who barely bested third place finisher Tsegaye Kebede (2:06:52-Ethiopia).

Just 1 minute and 29 seconds separated 1st through 10th places for the men.

Mary Keitany was the female winner with a time of 2:18:37.  Keitany’s time is the 2nd fastest in London Marathon history. The fastest time belongs to London’s Paula Radcliffe in 2:17:42 (2005).

Second place female was Edna Kiplagat (2:19:50-Kenya) and the female’s Kenyan podium was completed with Priscah Jeptoo (2:20:14).

The top five female finishers were all from Kenya.

Congrats to all who ran and finished the 2012 London Marathon.

Arkansas native Leah Thorvilson won the Carmel Marathon earlier today with a winning time of 2:42:13 in Carmel, Indiana.  The winning time by Leah was also a new course record.

The win comes just one week after Thorvilson was the overall winner at the Hogeye Marathon in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Thorvilson bested the second best female by nearly twenty minutes. Melissa Gillette finished second with a strong time of 3:02:25.

Third overall female went to Laurissa Dalrymple in 3:07:37.
