Ready to vote for your favorite March 2012 race medal? We had some great ones submitted in March. Of course, we couldn’t include them all but here are 16 to choose from. A lot, I know, but I’m sure you’ll have no problem picking a favorite! The medal chosen as the Best Race Medal for March 2012 will be included in the contest for the Best Race Medal of 2012 at the end of the year.
Oh, by the way…the February 2012 Best Race Medal vote will be open for one more week. The Surf City medal is in the lead!
This is the medal for the Grandfather Mountain Marathon that took place on July 14, 2012 in Boone, North Carolina.
The marathon is held during the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, runs through the Blue Ridge Mountains, and finishes just before the games start so there are bagpipes playing and a big crowd. Solid medal for this marathon’s 45th Anniversary. Grandfather Mountain Marathon is on my to-do list for next year.
We receive a lot of medals each month and it’s so fun to see all of them. We are going to have Run It Fast readers vote on their favorite medal for each month. At the end of the year, we’ll have a vote for the best medal of the year! We’ve already had the vote for January Medals so thank you to all of you who voted! The medal that received the most votes in the January 2012 Medals was the Inaugural Louisiana Marathon Medal.
We couldn’t include them all but here are the best of the medals submitted to Run It Fast in February 2012.
Here is the medal for the Backass Jackal Trail Marathon that was held on June 24, 2012 in Jackson, TN.
The fun & unique medal was custom made by RIF #151 Chris Estes’s brother Micah Estes. The Backass Jackal was run by 5 hardcore runners the day after the Jackal Trail Marathon. Two relay teams also took part in the Backass Jackal. You can see the results for both races here:
Here is the medal for the Jackal Trail Marathon that was held on June 23, 2012 in Jackson, TN.
I love this medal and wish I’d been able to run this so I could get one! The jackal on it is fierce and has tons of attitude which is perfect for a trail marathon.
