This is the buckle for the Across The Years 24/48/72 Hour endurance race that took place from December 29, 2012 to January 1, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The race is held on a 1 mile loop and runners do as many laps as they can during their event. They can choose to run the 24, 48, or 72 hour race. Runners who hit 100 miles during the endurance run receive this very cool buckle.
Congratulations to RIF #1 Joshua Holmes who completed 100.8 miles in 19:49:35 and PRd by over 90 minutes! Woo!
This is the medal for the Trail of Fears: The Day After the End of the World Elimination Race that was held on December 22, 2012 in Jackson, Tennessee.
Love, love, love this medal. The detail is awesome and the “ribbon” is perfect for it!
Congratulations to RIF #65 Jonathan Harrison who was the Last Man Standing and won the Trail of Fears by completing 16 loops for a total of 68.8 miles! He received the beautiful buckle at the top for his first place finish.
This is the medal for the Lookout Mountain 50 Mile Trail Race that was held on December 15, 2012 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Congratulations to RIF #166 Nathan Judd, RIF #185 David Pharr, and RIF #83 Brad Box who all did their first 50 Miler there! Here’s a photo of Nathan and David before the race with RIF #1 Joshua Holmes (who shaved 2.5 hours off his previous time there) and RIF #65 Jonathan Harrison (who crewed).

This is the medal for the InauguralBlack Diamond 40 Miler that was held on Black Friday, November 23, 2012 in Jackson, Tennessee.
So cool that the medal has a map of the route on it. Love it! This is a photo of the back of the medal and the award that RIF #1 Joshua Holmes won for winning the race. Congrats Josh!
This is the 100K buckle for the Javelina Jundred that was held on October 27-28, 2012 in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
The 100K buckle is given to runners who complete at least 4 loops (15.4 miles) of the Javelina Jundred but do not complete the 100 Miler. I think it’s a fun buckle. I am biased though since it’s my first! 🙂

Some great medals were submitted to the Bling Case in August. It was hard to pick which ones to use for the August vote but we narrowed it down to 15 medals. As I’m sure you know by now, the medal chosen as the Best Race Medal for August 2012 will be included in the contest for the Best Race Medal of 2012 at the end of the year.
