This is the finisher’s medal for the Winter Blast Half Marathon that was held on March 2, 2014 in Portage, Michigan.

I’d say this was an appropriate medal for this winter, wouldn’t you?

This is the medal that the finishers of the Dry Creek Trail Marathon received on February 23, 2014 in Ashland City, Tennessee.

That’s right….no medals were given to finishers of this first year event. Hopefully, if this event continues, they will step it up, especially for $85.

“The Cowtown races took place this past weekend, February 22 and 23, in Fort Worth, Texas.

There is a 10K, adults 5K and a children’s 5K on Saturday, and on Sunday there is the half marathon, marathon and 50K.

If you run a race both days, that’s known as The Cowtown Challenge. For your efforts you earn an additional medal (and an extra technical shirt!).

I ran the 10K (PR!) and the half marathon. What’s really fun about the medals is that it’s designed as a spur on a leather (pleather?) strap and it spins! There were color designations and designations on the ribbons for the half (green), full (yellow) and ultra (orange). I also love that the ribbons say “I earned my spurs”. Too fun!”

These are the very cool medals for the Gasparilla Distance Classic that was held on February 22 & 23, 2014 in Tampa Florida.

The 15K and 5K were held on Saturday and the 8K and Half Marathon were held on Sunday. The runner’s who completed all 4 races over the weekend also received the Michelob Ultra Challenge. Now that’s a most excellent haul of pirate booty! Congrats to RIF #108 Mark who completed the Ultra Challenge!

The race starts and finishes on the stateline for Texas and Arkansas. Half the race is run in each state.
