Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea tweeted the following late tonight about distance running:
“Distance running is the best way to learn how to stay present in the moment I have ever found”
Flea ran his first marathon at the 2011 Los Angeles Marathon. I was lucky enough to finish around the same time as he did and talk to him briefly in the downpour that had soaked us all 26.2 miles.
I’m glad to hear he has stuck with it. He ran the L.A. Marathon to raise money for his charity, the Silver Lake Conservatory (website).
