This is the medal for the Moose’s Tooth Marathon and Bear Tooth Marathon Relay that were held on August 19, 2012 in Anchorage, Alaska.
The marathon and relay are part of the Big Wild Life Runs that also includes a half marathon, 5K, and kids 2K. Cool medal that incorporates the shape of the state, the moose, and the bear. Quintessential Alaskan wild life.

This is the medal for the Leading Ladies Marathon that was held on August 19, 2012 in Spearfish, South Dakota.
The theme for this year’s women only marathon was The Lead Mare and the medal was based on a painting of the same name by Sarah Rogers. It’s a colorful and unique medal for a fun, fun, fun race! Seriously… it’s my new favorite marathon and I highly recommend it for the views and the support and bling! You can read my recap of it here.

It’s time to vote for the best May 2012 race medal! May was another busy race month and we received a ton of submissions but we whittled it down to 15 for you to to choose from. I voted for my favorite already!

Here is the medal for the Area 13.1 Half Marathon that was held on August 18, 2012 in Roswell, Georgia.
Okay, the medal is little on the small side but it is kind of cool. I like how there are runners reflected in the alien’s eyes! It seems fitting since this night race challenges you to “escape the invasion”. I like the shirt too.

This is the medal for Madison Mini Marathon that was held on August 18, 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Cool beer mug medal! The photo also shows the medal that RIF #107 Scott received for completing the 2nd half marathon in the M2 Challenge. The 1st half marathon was the Summerfest Rock ‘n Sole Half Marathon held in June. You can see Scott’s medal for that half marathon here.

This is the medal for the North Face Trail Running Challenge that was held on August 19, 2012 in La Calera near Bogota, Colombia.
A simple, but solid medal for the challenge which includes a 5K, 10K, 21K, and a 50K. Congrats to Juan who ran the 21K!

Masochist/race director Josh Hite won the Blister in the Sun Marathon on August 5, 2012 for the third consecutive year in Cookeville, Tennessee with a winning time of 3:17:18.
Hite started the marathon back in 2010 when only 14 of his craziest friends dared to show up for five brutal loops of Cane Creek Park (and middle school). This year had nearly 90 participants. Those that were lucky enough to finish took home some of the hottest bling you’ll ever come across.
John Ramsay finished in second placewith a time of 3:29:12 and Meredith Smith (Female Winner), third overall, with a time of 3:29:22. Third overall male went to Todd Shause in 3:31:53.
The second place female was Michelle Lenahan in 3:44:45 with the third place female going to Laura Schmitt in 4:06:46.

If you love marathon medals and building up your bling collection with awesome souvenirs from races then you will love the 2013 Walt Disney World Marathon Medal that was previewed today via a release video.
The medal celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon that attracts over 20,000 runners each year to Orlando, Florida.
This medal seems to have it all: dual spinners, Mickey Mouse spinning head, old school Mickey Mouse spinning head, large design, strong shield like design and a thick ribbon to let it swing from your neck like an overlarge pendulum inside It’s a Small World.

This is the medal for the Tour De Pain which took place on August 10-11, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Tour De Pain is 3 races: a 4 mile beach run on Friday night, a 5K on Saturday morning, and a 1 mile on Saturday night. The times for all 3 races are then added together. It would be a challenge to figure out how hard to run each race!
