Black Diamond 40 Miler Ultramarathon
Black Friday – November 23, 2012 – 6:30am

The Black Diamond 40 Miler ultramarathon & relay will turn a wasted day, Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), into a beautiful day of friends and fellow runners covering 40.5 miles across open Tennessee highways and backroads.

Jackson to Milan to Humboldt to Jackson

The race will start at All Saints Anglican Church in Jackson, Tennessee and take runners 20 miles up 45E Hwy Bypass to the city of Milan. From there runners will head west on TN-76W/US -79S towards the town of Humboldt which will be 30 miles into the race. From Humboldt the course will go down S 17th Ave that will turn into Windy City for 8 miles before taking a left onto John Smith Rd for a bit less than a mile before taking another left onto McClellan Rd for the remaining mile back to All Saints Anglican Church for the finish.

The race will be a laid back, slow paced event. If you can imagine the child that the Strolling Jim 40 Miler and Vol State 500K would produce then it would be close to the Black Diamond 40 Miler.  There will be water jugs dropped at several spots along the course. Runners will need a handheld and prepared to be self-sufficient for most of the race.  There will be numerous connivence and other stores along the route to refill handhelds (in between water drops), get food, use the restroom, etc.

All runners will receive a tech shirt and all finishers will receive a BD40 medal.

Relay Division: $150 for 3 person relay, $200 for 4 person relay. Link below to sign up. Team captain signs team up and pays. TC enters names of teammates. (10% discount for RIF-Club members. Check RIF FB Group or email for code.)
